I am not sure why people have so much trouble following directions. As a child, I had problems with direction but as I grew older, I learned to read the directions and follow them. If I had a reason to ask for a change in direction, I went to the appropriate people.
Some people just like to do everything their own way. When you are new to a corporation, you should probably follow directions. If you have a suggestion on how to make something more efficient, it would probably be wise to talk and suggest the change to management rather than going about your way and changing it all and then having management find out.
I guess some people never learn.
