The Pain of Making a Wedding Guest List

This is actually stolen from a family friend Laura Nelli. She is the creativity behind Nelle handbags and Harold Handbags. She basically confirmed what i needed to hear when making a wedding guest list. Most of the words ring true, with a few minor touches from me. They are all in brackets. I know. how APA of me. Im not adding the quotes though!

Thanks Laura

and Everyone, Check out Nelle Handbags and the new Harold Line!

Truth. I love making lists, it’s literally one of my top 10 favorite things to do. So you might imagine the enjoyment that I have taken in creating our wedding guest list. [Trying to get all the family friends my parents want in there, with my and my fiance's eclectic crew is not an easy task] I have [borrowed] a list of criteria, or perhaps even a set of rules to live by [from the wonderful Laura Nelli, soon to be Mrs. High], at least when determining who to invite to one of the happiest and most emotional days of our life.
1. [I am asian. We roll 25 deep at all times. We are going to have a big wedding, but that doesn't necessarily mean I am inviting everyone off the street.
2. If I have never been invited to your home, you probably shouldn’t be invited to the wedding.
3. If you have never met my fiance’, you probably shouldn’t be invited to the wedding.
4. If I have to put on make up when meeting you for drinks, you probably shouldn’t be invited to the wedding.
5. If I wouldn’t call or text you at [an indecent hour] of the night, you probably shouldn’t be invited to the wedding.
6. If we haven’t spoken since that last keg party in college, you probably shouldn’t be invited to the wedding.
7. If we are Facebook Friends and [you only knew it was my birthday because FB reminded you, you probably shouldn't be invited to the wedding].
8. If my number is not in your cell phone vice/versa, you probably shouldn’t be invited to the wedding.
9. [If i think of you and feel panic stricken, then you probably shouldn't be invited to the wedding].
10. Remember there is an exception to every rule.

I think this is a pretty good set of rules that will provide clarity as we move forward in finalizing our guest list.

I Think that this is a great set of rules borrowed from Laura to make my guest list. Its hard enough to juggle work, school, nannying, and wedding planning to have to be set off by everything. This puts my mind at ease and I think I will be able to move forward and finalize the guest list shortly.

However if you feel offended at this list, then please contact me; but know that you probably shouldn't be invited to the wedding then because you just don't get me.
